Groceries have gotten out of hand. I know you’re busy and overwhelmed and you are just wishing there was someone who could hand you everything you need to get that grocery budget under control and still have nutritious dinners for your family that taste amazing. So I built this: 28 real dinners, averaging $2.23 a serving for the month. No coupons, no bulk-buying, no bargain-bin ingredients. Just a plan that does the thinking for you.
Every recipe here is one of mine, pulled straight from the site. Nothing is a placeholder or a filler dish thrown in to hit a number. If it’s on this calendar, it’s a real dinner with a real link, real instructions, and in most cases a video if you want to cook along. Twenty-eight nights, twenty-eight different dinners, no two nights in a row repeating the same protein or the same starch.
How I price it out. Every recipe on this calendar sticks to the same short list of pantry staples: 13 core spices, a few condiments, and basics like olive oil and rice. No specialty sauce you’ll use once and forget about, no one-off ingredient that only shows up in a single recipe. That’s what keeps the grocery list simple and the cost low, week after week. The price of the entire bottle of olive oil, jar of spices, and bag of rice are all included in the cost per serving, so the plan actually gets cheaper as you go along.
What you’re getting below. A pantry staples list you can print and take straight to the store, then a day-by-day breakdown for all four weeks with a link to every recipe. Cook it in order or shuffle nights around, none of it breaks the plan.
Pantry Staples
Stock these once and you’re set for the whole month, and honestly, for months after that. Buying the full list from zero runs about $92, a one-time cost that isn’t part of your weekly grocery budget. After that first trip, you’re just buying food.

Week 4
Monday: Tuna Casserole with Simple Frozen Carrots ($2.87/serving) A classic, budget-stretching casserole with the pasta and protein already combined.
Tuesday: Chicken a la King with Biscuits ($2.81/serving) Creamy chicken over a warm, flaky biscuit instead of the usual toast or rice, a nice change of pace.
Wednesday: Easy Fried Cabbage with White Rice ($1.16/serving) The cheapest dinner in the whole plan. Simple, filling, and a good one to lean on when the week’s budget is running tight.
Thursday: Chicken Francese with Plain Spaghetti and Frozen Green Beans ($2.94/serving) A lemony, buttery chicken dish served over spaghetti instead of the usual mashed potatoes or rice. The most expensive night of the month, but still under budget.
Friday: 30 Minute Chicken Gnocchi Soup ($2.20/serving) Exactly what it sounds like: on the table in half an hour, no side needed.
Saturday: Crustless Spinach Quiche with Cucumber Tomato Salad ($2.01/serving) Breakfast-for-dinner again, but crustless, so it’s a little lighter than the ham quiche earlier in the month.
Sunday: Perfect Roast Chicken with “Garlic Bread” Roasted Potatoes and Garlic Roasted Broccoli ($2.92/serving) A proper Sunday dinner to close out the month. Save the bones and any leftover meat, both freeze well and make a great head start on a future soup.
That’s the whole month: 28 dinners, one pantry list, and an average of $2.23 a serving. Print the shopping list, stock the pantry once, and the rest is just cooking.
