CES 2026: LG Display Recognized For World-First Automotive OLED Innovations

LG Display announced that two of its latest automotive display innovations have received CES 2026 Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). The recognized technologies—Dual View OLED and Under Display Camera-infrared (UDC-IR) OLED—were honored in the In-Vehicle Entertainment category, highlighting LG Display’s continued leadership in next-generation automotive display solutions.

Dual View OLED is presented as the world’s first display capable of showing different content depending on the viewer’s position. This enables the driver to see navigation information while the front passenger simultaneously watches movies or other media on the same screen. When installed for rear passengers, it also allows multiple users to view different content at once, enhancing in-vehicle entertainment and optimizing limited spatial layouts. Its optimized pixel structure prevents touch inputs on the driver’s navigation view from interfering with the passenger’s content, supporting individualized infotainment experiences. The display uses a Tandem OLED structure, delivering high durability, consistent picture quality, and reliable operation across extreme temperatures ranging from –40°C to 85°C.

The second award-winning technology, UDC-IR OLED, was co-developed with LG Innotek and is described as the world’s first automotive full-screen display capable of concealing an in-screen driver-monitoring camera. The display increases transmittance in the camera area and employs advanced algorithms to render the camera hole invisible from the driver’s perspective. This enables the camera to function without affecting visual design or user experience. The system integrates LG Innotek’s high-resolution infrared camera with image-enhancement software to ensure precise driver-monitoring performance.

LG Display’s history of recognition in automotive display technologies includes previous CES Innovation Awards for its Thin Actuator Sound Solution in 2023 and its 57-inch Pillar-to-Pillar LCD—the world’s largest single-panel automotive display—in 2024. These achievements reinforce the company’s strategy of advancing display performance, design flexibility, and automotive safety features.

At CES 2026, LG Display will present its next-generation automotive display lineup at a dedicated booth in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, targeting collaboration with leading automotive suppliers and manufacturers. The company will also introduce new large-format OLED products at a customer-exclusive booth located at the Conrad Hotel near the main exhibition venue.
